I read Impact Science by Bruno Sánchez-Andrade Nuño on

Impact Science is a pretty excellent book about the implementation of science thinking and discovery: part history, part memoir, and a dose of well-guided advice for folks in a similar situation as the author. It executes all of those roles admirably, picks the right anecdotes, and tells a good story around, for example, CFCs, AIDS, and the nuclear bomb.

Full disclosure: I worked with Bruno at Mapbox.
