NYC Primaries June 24 - don't rank Cuomo, vote for everyone else

🗳️ Early voting has begun: find your polling site and vote! 🗳️

Please: vote in the Democratic primaries in NYC. They're on June 24 and it's easy to find your polling center. Don't rank Cuomo and rank everyone else.

New York City finds itself in a weird and scary situation right now: we've got a lot of great candidates for mayor, but Andrew Cuomo is ahead in the polls, despite not actively campaigning and having a bad track record and bad platform. It's just pure name recognition: surely some of it from confused voters who just remember his dad, Mario.

Don't rank Cuomo

Andrew Cuomo is a really bad candidate who would be terrible for the city. Look at his Controversies section on Wikipedia, or read about how he handled nursing homes during COVID (and tried to cover it up) or his abuse allegations. It's bad. Here's a quick rundown:

If this list isn't enough, feel free to contact me on the /about page of this website, let me know where your 'red line' is with politicians, and I'm happy to do more research and add to this page!

Vote for Mamdani, Adams, Lander, Myrie, or practically anyone else

It's ranked choice voting. You can vote for 5 people. Use all 5 slots. Here's a sample ballot.

As I've mentioned before, I'm a big fan of Zohran Mamdani. He's the strongest candidate right now in the polls. But if you like a more moderate candidate, rank Adrienne Adams first. Like your polices fully fleshed-out and explained, you've got Brad Lander. Want a fierce advocate for communities, how about Zellnor Myrie.

They're all great options. They've all got pretty cool policies.

We need to avoid the default scenario here, which is that Cuomo wins on name recognition alone, and helped by people who ranked him somewhere in their ballot. Don't rank him and vote for other people.
